We have both ASP and PHP shopping cart versions available. Most merchants choose between them depending on their needs. For example, a storefront will require our PHP version while a fast order taking add-on can use our ASP shopping cart.

We all at one time or another for what ever reason, are likely looking for the quick fix with the least amount of effort. So that's ok, either version of our shopping carts can supply the answer. Both versions work equally well.

A lot of people get their first taste of Florida Cart because it comes as a package with our web hosting. That can be a good thing because it is a very powerful and robust system. But we have also seen it become the source of frustration when there are errors or things do not go as expected. The cool thing is that it is open source software and therefore it's free. The challenging thing can be that its open source software and therefore to really get in a modify and or fix things you really do need to have an understanding of PHP/MySQL web development. Also, throw in the basic skills of HTML and Javascript, not to mention FTP and some basic web site administration.

If you are someone new to Florida Cart and one who intends to do the work yourself, probably the best advice is not to have the expectation of having a fully functional award winning site within a handful of days. Rather it's more realistic to take the time and effort to gain an understanding of the architecture and function of the system. Study the layout of the various files and how they interact. If you are new to PHP get yourself a book to study like PHP For Dummies. You can learn a lot, very quickly. The same goes for ASP.

As mentioned above, our hosting packages make all of the above available without any work by you. Yes the system is free but we do not own any servers so you will have to pay for that. We don't own a SSL certificate authority so you will have to buy one or share ours. Most merchants can use the cart right out of the box. (So to speak.) But some of you will require special software add-ons for specific needs. No surprise that we charge for extras but our prices are very affordable. So, we install the system free of charge and that includes database backups and maintenance if needed.
